MAR. 30, 2017:

Festival season is upon us, and the style and makeup videos are rolling in. Desi Perkins’s Coachella Festival and JCharlesBeauty’s Chunky Glitter Festival makeup tutorials are some of our favorites in the first round of this year’s festival-fabulous looks. But who set the bar in past years? Here are 5 top festivals and the YouTube accounts we’ll be checking for music-scene-appropriate inspiration…

COACHELLA
When: April 14 – 23
Where: Indio, CA, USA
Who to watch: Our very own in-house creator, Karen Yeung @iamkareno. She’s just done a festival-style video in collaboration with Hypebae, but it was last year’s Dreamy Foiled Freckles that got every Coachella girl talking.

GOVERNORS BALL
When: June 2 – 4
Where: New York City, NY, USA
Who to watch: NYC’s Tess Christine @tesschristine123. After requests flooded in following a series of Instagram posts at summer’s hottest gigs, she uploaded this Messy Concert Hair tutorial. Her most recent Ariana Grande-inspired style and beauty look is also on point, as the singer performed on the Island in 2015.

GLASTONBURY
When: June 21 – 25
Where: Somerset, UK
Who to watch: Fashion design student Rosie Bea @msrosiebea. Her look is Ultimate English Rose – with a twist. Check last year’s 60s Festival Makeup tutorial for that country-meets-cool makeup the British do best.

PITCHFORK
When: July 14 – 16
Where: Chicago, IL, USA
Who to watch: Swedish blogger Evelina Forsell @evelinaforsell. Her first Music Festival video racked up almost 1 million views last year. Her unique looks rock just the right amount of edge for a weekend watching edgy artists.

BURNING MAN
When: August 27 – September 4
Where: Black Rock Desert, NV, USA
Who to watch: Californian model/vlogger Kristen Leanne @kristenleannestyle. Her channel’s festival-inspired makeup looks would be worthy of any desert tribe. The Neon Lights Eyeliner video is our favorite because, come nightfall, everything from bikes to bodies should glow in the dark.
