Get set for a September full of flat-screen fun! These are the beauty television shows to look out for next month – and beyond.

American Beauty Star

Lifetime is the network behind this September’s must-see reality TV series, American Beauty Star, in which 12 contestants, from YouTube influencers and beauty lovers to expert hair stylists, compete for $50,000 cash, beauty prizes, as well as a coveted spot on the beauty team at a Teen Vogue editorial shoot. Look out for social stars like Tyme The Infamous, Catherine Shim and Andrew Velazquez, plus many more.

Mentored by master MUA Sir John, each contestant will be teamed with another from the opposite craft to create the best possible beauty and fashion look for a professional model. Judges include photographer Russell James and former Vogue beauty director Sarah Brown, as well as appearances from Michelle Phan, Huda Kattan, and models Behati Prinsloo, Christie Brinkley and Camilla Alves.

Overhaul

Amazon’s home makeover show in partnership with web video production/ad company Kin Community will feature YouTube stars, such as beauty blogger, Teni Panosian, update their interiors over a six-episode first series.  Overhaul is hosted and co-produced by Christiane Lemieux, founder of DwellStudio, and is designed as a platform for selling e-commerce site Amazon’s products – think DwellStudio furniture, ‘as well as more affordable alternatives’, says Business Insider.

‘The goal with this show is to both inspire and entertain,’ said Kin Community CEO Michael Wayne. ‘It’s unique in that it combines the power of Kin’s creator community, the award-winning quality of our production studio and commerce.’

In addition to the Amazon.com-hosted series, each of the featured digital creators will produce videos showing their home after being made over, to be shared on their own YouTube channels and other social platforms, thus driving people from outside Amazon to shop for featured products on its site. This one will be a big deal to brands.

Glam Masters

Earlier this year, Kim Kardashian West released a job application that got everybody talking. This was your chance to compete to become ‘beauty director of the Kardashian apps’ on Kim’s upcoming Lifetime reality show, Glam Masters. If chosen, you’d be one of ‘four lucky bloggers’ to ‘go head-to-head’ every week.

Information about who made the contestant cut, as well as an air date, is yet to be announced, but how could anyone miss a show that’s Keeping Up With The Kardashians meets Project Runway meets the best of beauty on YouTube?
