OCT 19, 2016:
No matter what you do for a living, having a fixed morning routine can help you get energized and set intentions for the day. As an entrepreneur, you run your schedule, so it can often be easy to slip into procrastination mode or get distracted. Reset your morning routine and refocus on mindful meditation and exercise. Take cues from these highly successful women and have a better morning.
Anna Wintour, Vogue editor-in-chief
The most fashionable woman in the world wakes up at 5:45 am every day and heads off to an hour-long tennis match. Talk about starting the day off with an ace.
Margaret Thatcher, former U.K. prime minister
Thatcher considered herself a “short sleeper,” aka someone who can get by on less sleep than most people. She woke up every morning at 5am to listen to “Farming Today,” a popular BBC Radio show about food, farming and the country.
Eva Chen, Instagram Head of Fashion
The first thing Instagram’s Eva Chen does is check Twitter, Instagram and her favorite websites. She then dresses herself from the shoes up, which we think is a great way to think about planning an outfit.
Arianna Huffington, head of Huffington Post Media Group
Huffington skips the phone, opting instead for a little morning meditation.
“A big part of my morning ritual is about what I don’t do: When I wake up, I don’t start the day by looking at my smartphone. Instead, once I’m awake, I take a minute to breathe deeply, be grateful, and set my intention for the day.”
Oprah Winfrey, Media Mogul
Like Arianna Huffington, Winfrey spends 20 minutes each morning to mediate and clear her head. After that, it’s off to the gym.
Michelle Obama, First Lady
A big supporter of daily exercise, Michelle Obama practices what she preaches. She’s up every day at 4:30 am for her morning workout, before Malia, Sasha and even the President.
