With almost two billion users, there is a lot of competition as a beauty creator on Facebook. And the platform doesn’t make it any easier. According to TechCrunch, its algorithms determine which content to display in a user’s news feed in many ways, from how well the post performed in terms of engagement to when and what kind of post it is. So how do you keep standing out from the crowd? Here are some swift and simple ways to improve your reach and grow your Facebook following…
Know Your Audience
Easy and free to use, Facebook Insights is broken down into five separate tabs: Likes, Reach, Visits, Posts and People. This gives you a complete picture of how your page is performing. If you really mean business, you want to learn from your competition, too. There are lots of tools to help you do that – Simply Measured, Quintly and Buzzsumo are some of the most popular, with the latter designed to help you identify the top performing content for any keyword, topic, or brand name.
According to Buffer, native videos are one of the best ways to grab the attention of your audience. They quoted ‘Queen of Facebook’ Mari Smith, who suggested that this is largely down to autoplay. ‘It’s all about psychology,’ she explained. ‘They come in through your newsfeed, start to see a tiny bit of movement, boom, it draws them in. They’ll stop and play your video. Make it short, quick and easy, with a call to action.’ And the numbers speak for themselves, with social-media analytics company Socialbakers finding that video posts had an organic reach of 8.71%, compared to text-only statuses (5.77%), link posts (5.29%) and photo posts (3.73%).
Hit Your Targets
Now you can target a selection of your audience through organic posts with Facebook’s latest tools. These include Interest Targeting, which helps you reach followers that have purposefully liked your page based on a shared interest, with the idea being that if you show your content to users that are more likely to engage with it, you’ll achieve a higher engagement rate.
